A note from the maker

Exploring how different materials can create different effects within millinery and embellishment is what attracted me to this specialism. Exploring how the same design made in a different fabric, texture, width of ribbon can affect the finished flower has been an interesting journey. Balancing this experimentation with the exploration of millinery techniques inspired by professionals around me has allowed me to build up my skills. I want to learn as much as possible to broaden my skillset and master the skills I already have. Learning to use new materials like crim and wire, to sinamay and develop my buckram and felt skills has been such an exciting process.
